How much does Amazon Prime cost in Germany in 2026?
Amazon Prime currently costs €8.99 per month or €89.90 per year. The annual plan works out at approximately €7.49 per month and becomes cheaper than twelve monthly payments from the eleventh month of use.
Eligible customers can receive a 30-day free trial. If the membership is not ended during the trial, it continues as a paid subscription using the selected payment method. Check the eligibility rules and renewal date before signing up.
Students and apprentices may qualify for a discounted Prime Student membership with a six-month free period. Amazon also offers a discounted option for young adults aged 18 to 22, subject to the applicable conditions. People with certain proofs, such as an exemption from the German broadcasting contribution or a qualifying social or family pass, may also be eligible for a reduced membership. Conditions can change.
Prime delivery: useful, but not universal
Prime provides free premium delivery for millions of eligible items within Germany and to Austria. The available delivery option depends on the item, delivery address and current logistics. In selected regions, eligible orders of at least €20 may also qualify for free same-day delivery.

Prime Video is included with an Amazon Prime membership. The selection includes changing collections of movies, TV episodes, Amazon Originals and selected live or sports content. However, not everything visible in the Prime Video app is included in the membership.

Amazon Music Prime or Music Unlimited?
Amazon Music Prime is included with Prime and, according to Amazon, offers more than 100 million songs and podcasts without advertising. The key difference from Music Unlimited is how playback works: Prime Music does not always allow every individual song to be selected and played fully on demand. Some listening is limited to shuffle mode, while selected playlists may be available on demand.
Music Unlimited is a paid add-on with full on-demand access and additional audio features. Prime Music may be sufficient for background listening or playlists. Prime Reading: a rotating digital library
Prime Reading offers a changing selection of eBooks, magazines, comics, short stories and other digital titles. It is not the same as the entire Kindle Store and does not replace a complete eBook subscription such as Kindle Unlimited.
The benefit is most relevant if you read regularly and the available selection matches your interests. Occasional readers should treat Prime Reading as an extra rather than the sole reason to subscribe.
Prime Gaming and Amazon Luna
Prime Gaming includes changing monthly games, in-game content and one free Twitch channel subscription. The subscription must be selected or activated regularly; it does not remain permanently assigned to the same channel automatically.
Prime members also receive access through Amazon Luna to a changing selection of cloud games at no additional cost. Titles and availability may change. Paid packages such as Luna Premium, Ubisoft+ and Jackbox Games are not automatically included. Suitable devices, a controller where needed and a stable internet connection may be required.
Amazon Photos: unlimited photo storage
Prime members receive unlimited full-resolution photo storage. Video storage is limited to 5 GB. Amazon Photos can therefore be particularly useful for backing up large photo collections, but it is less suitable as a solution for extensive video libraries.
